The UIA, ACE and AIA signed a Joint Declaration to promote the unique expertise of architects in tackling local and global challenges of our time

The International Union of Architects (UIA), the Architects’ Council of Europe (ACE) and the American Institute of Architects (AIA) signed a joint Declaration to highlight the key role and responsibility of the architectural profession in tackling the local and global challenges of our time, in particular with respect to climate change, urban regeneration, social inclusion and heritage conservation.

Recalling the 2050 Imperative Declaration, signed during the 2014 UIA General Assembly in Durban, the UIA, ACE and AIA commit to promote in their respective organisations the architects’ unique expertise in planning and designing better places, for the well-being of humanity and future of our planet.

The Declaration was signed on April 17 2015, during the the Architects’ Council of Europe General Assembly, in Tallinn (Estonia), by Elizabeth Chu Richter, AIA President, Esa Mohamed, UIA President and Luciano Lazzari, ACE President.
