Celebrate the achievements of women in architecture on #EthelDay
In 1898, Ethel Mary Charles became the first woman architect to join the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). Over the past century, hundreds of thousands of women all over the world have followed in Ethel’s footsteps to become an architect, make their mark and share their talent.

On 5 July 2017, the RIBA is celebrating the architecture pioneer Ethel Charles on #EthelDay – a day of international social media campaigning to recognise the achievements of women in architecture.

Sign up to the Thunderclap, and on the 5 July, share images of a woman architect who you find inspiring and/or one of their designs - and don't forget the hashtag #EthelDay.
