![]() This project competition, in two stages, in conformity with the UIA-UNESCO regulations, has been approved by the International Union of Architects (UIA) and by the Association of Polish Architects (SARP). The competition is open to architects worldwide. The aim of the competition is to select the architectural concept for the future museum. With a surface area of 20 000 m2, the museum will be located in the Jazdow neighbourhood close to the riverbank of the Vistula (or Wisla) river called “Skarpa Warszawska” river and vast prestigous parks a significant aspect of Warsaw’s identity. Main competition datesDeadline for registration 15 June 2009 Deadline for submission of projects (1st stage) 30 June 2009 Jurymeeting, first stage July 2009 Jurymeeting, second stage December 2009 JuryThe international jury will be composed of: Grzegorz Buczek, architect, Poland; Christine Dalnoky, architect, France; Aurelio Galfetti, architect, Switzerland; Ryszard Jurkowski, architect, Poland; Jong Soung Kimm, architect, Republic of Korea, representing UIA; Tomasz Merta, Vice Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Poland; Marek Mikos, Chief architect of the city of Warsaw, Poland, Rafael Moneo, architect, Spain; Andrzej Rottermund, art historian, Poland; Eduardo Souto de Moura, architect, Portugal. PrizesA total amount of 350 000 euros will be awarded. Competitors selected to participate in the second stage will each receive the sum of 20 000 euros. The first prize will be worth 70 000 euros and the jury will award prizes and mentions in relation to the ranking it will set up.
