From 5 to 10 November 2007, the 26th international BATIMAT trade fair will be held in Paris and will be devoted to technical evolution, performance and innovation in the building sector.
Sustainable development has once again been chosen as the unifying theme for this trade fair, focusing on three major sectors that are evolving rapidly: energy management, safety, accessibility and comfort.
For the second time, the International Union of Architects is associated with BATIMAT and will present a series of international conferences, from 6 to 9 November. To face the new challenges of the world community of architects, the UIA, through the voices of seven experts, will contribute on the following topics:
Positive energy buildings: Manfred Hegger, UIA Expert “Sustainable Development
programme“ (Europe)
Multifunctional façades: Nikos Fintikakis, Director of the UIA programme “Architecture and Renewable Energy Sources”
Architecture and lighting: Laszlo Földes, member of the UIA commission “International Competitions”
Architecture for all: Krzyztof Chwalibog, Director of the UIA programme “Architecture for All” (Eastern Europe) and Joseph Kwan, Director of the UIA programme “Architecture for All” (Asia)
Building design and sustainability: Francis Sossah, Member of the UIA Council, Geraint John, Director of the UIA programme “Sports and Leisure” and Stéphanie Beaudry.
