UIA to participate in Building Futures Gulf by Batimat

On April 20 - 23 2008, BATIMAT is organising for the first time a series of four trade shows in Abu Dhabi. The shows will focus on high-performance buildings, in terms of energy, economy, environmental impact, and secure construction, and will present innovative solutions in sectors such as structure, facades, and comfort. BUILDING FUTURES GULF by BATIMAT is STRUCTURE GULF: focusing on structural technologies and products ENVELOPE GULF: focusing on the building’s envelope, including solutions for facades, joinery, and closure INTELLIGENT BUILDING GULF: focusing on integrated, communication system for improved comfort HVAC GULF: focusing on thermal comfort solutions During these shows, Reed Exhibitions will also manage a new program of business meetings that will allow all actors, including architects, to prepare relevant discussions on upcoming projects with exhibitors before the shows. This should enable a more efficient exchange of information and optimise participation. In cooperation with the UIA, a space will be set aside within each of these for architects to present their services and their realisations. A special UIA reduced admission fee will also be offered to architects. Conferences and forums on each of the show themes will be animated by international experts in the field. The UIA is a partner in these events through its conferences that will highlight the equitable practice of architecture, sustainable building, and the role of architects and builders in the reduction of CO2 emissions around the world.
