1999 AWARDS : Odile Decq and Benoit Cornette (France) , Georg Marterer (Austria)

Once again this year a realisation by the French architects Odile Decq and Benoit Cornette was awarded the Benedictus Prize - the School of Economic Science and the Law Library of the University of Nantes (France).

The Benedictus Award, in the residential buildings category, went to Georg Marterer, for the individual pre-fabricated house "TEE House", in Vienna (Austria).

SCHOOL OF ECONOMIC SCIENCE AND LAW LIBRARY OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NANTES

"The pertinence and the efficiency of this design lies in the perfect adequacy of means used to answer both programmatical and financial objectives. The obvious skill of the architects, the use of glass and more generally, the architect's relationship to technology are clearly expressed here as a way to fulfill a will. The jury was particularly impressed by the coherence between the conceptual strategy and materiality."
