The international Barbara Cappochin architecture prize was created by the BARBARA CAPPOCHIN Foundation and launched in association with the Order of Architects, Planners, landscape architects and Conservationists of the province of Padua in collaboration with the International Union of Architects (UIA) and the National Council of Italian Architects, Planners, landscape architects and Conservationists (CNAPPC).

OBJECTIVES

|
|
The objectives of this prize are:
• to promote quality in contemporary architecture and its relationship with the city as a means of opening the debate and allowing a comparison between world-wide architecture and that of the province of Padua.
• to increase the public's taste and passion for architecture.
• to highlight the growing interest of private and public promoters, planners and builders for quality architectural landscape, so essential in our society

DIFFERENT CATEGORIES OF PROGRAMMES

|
|
This prize was open world-wide to architects and multidisciplinary teams led by architect for a construction completed between 1st January 2003 and 31 December 2004. A special section was reserved for projects realised in the province of Padua.
The Prize was open to buildings in any of the following categories:
• Residential
• Commercial and Office Buildings
• Sports and recreational
• Religious
• Public buildings (educational, civic, cultural, health)

The international jury met in Padua on 20 and 21 October 2005. Under the presidency of Raffaele Sirica, architect, President of the C.N.A.P.C., the jury was composed of Mario Botta, architect (Switzerland), Giancarlo Ius, architect (Italy), UIA Vice-President, Balkrishna Doshi, architect (India) representing the UIA and Nikos Fintikakis, architect (Greece).
