PLUG AND PLAY

Maritime connections inspire the creation of synergies between fixed stations along the waterfront and mobile units that will allow for the development of new activities in Istanbul.
The project is based on a simple principle: connecting two units, one fixed, the “host unit”, a structure mounted on pilotis that houses certain facilities (a small kitchen, bathroom, toilets), and the floating “guest unit”, a barge that can be used for different functions such as seminars, exhibitions, or tours, and docked into different “hosts” along the waterfront.
This contribution offers numerous possibilities that would add to the already immense variety of cultural, recreational, and sightseeing opportunities offered by Istanbul.
Despite the modesty of its scale, this intervention, which re-establishes the animation between land and sea, is extremely pertinent and can be put into practice simply and economically.
