     An international competition, open to architects under 35 was organised in the framework of the UIA Congress, Turin 2008 the theme of which it illustrates: Transmitting architecture.
The programme concerned the conception of a UIA information pole in the city of Turin, a place to meet, to relax, a place dedicated to urban democracy. Of an overall surface of some 100 M2, the winning project is to be built in Turin for the UIA Congress.
460 projects were submitted to the jury chaired by George Kunihiro, Japan, and composed of Maria Theodorou, Greece, Paola Salerno, Italy, Reuben Mutiso, Kenya, Jennifer Lee, USA and Domenico Bagliani, Italy.
 Prize winners
Alberto Garcia Castro, Juan José Cruz, and Ismael Paez Jurado (Spain) won the first prize for their project entitled “Paperbox”. The jury appreciated the exercise of transformation of surfaces into volumes; the ingenuity of the project offering an interior compartmentalisation that replies clearly to the programme, its strong expression and purity, the judicious choice of materials.

Third prize: Andrea Veglia, Luca Rocca, Francesca Thiébat, Benedetta Veglia, Jacopo Testa (Italy)
