     SCreated on the initiative of the UIA Architecture & Children work programme, these awards honour persons and organisations that develop a knowledge of architecture amongst young people, from kindergarden up to 18 years, to help them understand architectural design and the and the processes by which our environment is shaped.
Three hundred projects were presented for the national pre-selection in the nineteen participating countries. The selected projects were submitted, last April, to an international jury that chose the winning entries in the four categories: schools, institutions, written media, audio-visual media.
The winners are:

Georges Nivoix with the Regional Centre for educational documentation - CRDP Franche Comté (France).
Four special mentions were also awarded by the jury. All the projects presented for the international selection will be exhibited during the UIA Congress in Tokyo where the official awards ceremony will be held.
