Richard Rogers & Vidal Architecture Team winners of Prime Property Awards 2010

The prize for the best real estate investissement programme in Europe was awarded to the Palmas Altas Technological Centre in Seville designed by Richard Rogers & Vidal Architecture Team. The project was developed by investor Bovis Lend Lease to house the headquarters of the Abengoa environmental technology group. Completed in 2009, this park is one of the biggest private-initiative technology and business parks in southern Spain that offers a high-quality working environment with outstanding ecologically sustainable architecture.

The second prize was won by the Swiss company Neue Brünnen AG, promoter of Westside Leisure and Shopping Centre in Berne the architectural conception of which was entrusted to Studio Daniel Libeskind. This is the biggest private development carried out in Switzerland.

Thrid prize went to Hochtief Projektentwicklung GmbH, for the Unilever House in Hamburg designed by Behnisch Architekten.

The Prime Property Award is open to architects and town planners, together with investors and developers. Jointly, they are invited to submit completed projects of a minimal surface of 5 000 m2 that can be new construction, refurbishments or redevelopments of existing commercial or housing buildings located in Europe. This biennial Award, in its second session this year, is organised by Union Investment Real Estate AG. 142 projects from 19 European countries were submitted to the jury on which László Szekér represented UIA.
