INTERNATIONAL CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
The UIA signs an accord with its Spanish Section for the implementation of an international system of continuing education.

Immediately following its 107th Council session in Xian, PR of China, on 10 to 12 October 2007, UIA President Gaetan Siew signed, on behalf of the Union, an accord with the Superior Council of Associations of Spanish Architects for the establishment of an international programme of continuing professional development. The agreement was co-signed by Carlos Hernandez Pezzi, CSCAE President on 16 October.

The accord establishes that the CSCAE will be responsible for the start up and running of the UIA CPD Programme, through a Company that will act as the operator.

The CPD system will consist of a collection of courses from around the world that satisfy a series of quality criteria approved by the UIA Council, thus having obtained the UIA label. The system is an international platform in which all of the UIA Member Sections, working bodies, partner organisations, and others may participate, under the condition that any educational material submitted complies with the criteria of appropriateness and quality that constitute the UIA label.

The programme will be officially launched at the UIA Congress in Turin, during July 2008.
