UIA at the Montparnasse tower

It is now on the 47th floor of the Montparnass Tower in Paris that you will find the UIA General Secretariat and its staff. The National Council of the Order of French Architects acquired this new office space, and offered to share it with the UIA.

Until now the General Secretariat occupied the former apartment of Auguste Perret in the building he designed at 51 rue Raynouard, which was completed in 1932. Auguste Perret was among the UIA’s founding fathers and was its first honorary president.

The Montparnasse Tower was built between 1969 and 1973 by architects Roger Saubot, Eugene Beaudouin, Urbain Cassan, and Louis Hoym de Marien. Eugene Beaudouin was president of the UIA from 1965 to 1969.
