THE UIA IN VENICE
On 8 September, an exhibition of the forty projects selected for the international short-list during the UIA consultation Celebration of Cities 2 - an idea for the city, will open its doors in Venice; the exhibition will run until 10 November 2006, at Palazzo Zorzi, UNESCO’s regional headquarters.
The exhibition’s opening will take place on 8 September, in presence of the authors of the three projects awarded grand-prizes during this consultation. A conference will be animated by Odile Decq, Massimo Gallione, Jaime Lerner, Josep Llop Torné, and Wolf Tochtermann. Rafael Sirica, president of the Italian National Council of Architects, Town Planners, Landscape Architects, and Conservationists (CNAPPC), will close the day-long event.
For the first time, the UIA will be part of the Venice Biennale of Architecture, the tenth edition of which will take place from 10 September to 19 November around two distinct yet complementary exhibitions Cities: architecture and society and Cities of Stone.
Organised jointly by CNAPPC and Ordini degli Architetti del Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Trento et Bolznao.
