UIA and CIALP signed a Memorandum of Understanding

Louise Cox, President of the International Union of Architects (UIA) and Rui Leão, Vice-President of the International Council of Architects of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CIALP) signed a joint protocol of cooperation in Macau, on 26 April 2010.

Through this Memorandum of Understanding both organisations intend to raise awareness of architectural heritage, to support the Sustainable by design Declaration proclaimed during the UN Copenhagen Conference on Climate Change (COP 15) and, to study and improve habitat and urban environment.

CIALP is the grouping of the Architectural Institutes of Portugal, Brazil, Angola, Mozambique, Macau, Timor, Capo Verde, Guinea-Bissau and São Tomé e Principe, having Goa as an observing member. It is committed to the improvement and promotion of architecture and architectural education within its member’s territory.
