A 50 000 euros Donation for Haiti

On 6 September 2010, in Paris, Louise Cox, UIA President, handed over a donation of 50 000 euros to Patrick Coulombel, President of the Emergency Architects Foundation, as a contribution to the Foundation’s work in favour of Haiti’s stricken population. This money will be devoted to the restoration, currently under way, of the Port de Prince psychiatric hospital.

This donation is the fruit of an auction of works by young Macanese artists and a benefit evening organised by the Association of Architects of Macao.

The event took place in the presence of Albert Dubler, UIA Vice-President, Patrick Colombier, President of the International Committee of French Architects and Mrs Marie Guerlyne Janvier, Counsellor at the Embassy of Haiti in France.

On this occasion, journalist and TV presenter Denis Brogniart expressed his reasons for becoming the patron of the Foundation and putting his renown to the service of Emergency Architects’ actions
