International Prize 2005
Landscape, planning and protection


OBJECTIVES


Created by the Italian company « Vivai Torsanlorenzo », the aims of this international Prize are to promote completed landscape projects and quality in urban and forest vegetation. This Prize received the approval of the International Union of Architects-UIA.


THREE TYPES OF PROJECTS


Completed projects submitted for this Prize were required to fall into one of the following three categories:

• Landscape design and territorial transformation: Interventions in the field of rehabilitation, restoration, enhancing the natural environment.

• Plant cultivation in an urban environment: Design of green spaces in the city: squares, neighbourhoods, urban parks.

• Private gardens and parks in and around cities.


JURY


The jury, under the presidency of Justine Miething, architect (Germany), UIA representative, met on 1 April 2005 and was composed of:
• Joris Michael de Bekker (The Netherlands) representing the European Foundation of Landscape Architects
• Pietro Pettini (Italy) representing the National Council of Italian Architects, Planners, Conservators, Landscape Architects
• Heiner Rodel (Switzerland) representing the International Federation of Landscape Architects
• Eric Guillou (France) representing the European Federation of Landscape Architects
• Carlo Bruschi (Italy) representing the Italian Association of Landscape Architecture
• Sachimine Masui (Italy), representing the editorial team of the Italian journal « Torsanlorenzo Informa » and
• Mario Margheriti (Italy) representing the Torsanlorenzo Nurseries.
