Composition of the UIA Bureau and Council 2005-2008

Paris, 20 July 2005

The General Assembly of the International Union of Architects, which met in Istanbul (Turkey) from 8 to 10 July 2005, proceeded with the election of it's new Bureau for the 2005-2008 period as well as the partial renewal its Council members.

The Assembly also chose the candidature of the city of Tokyo, Japan, as host city for the UIA congress and Assembly in 2011. The next triennial Congress and the next General Assembly will take place in Turin (Italy) in 2008, in conformity with the Assembly's vote in Berlin, in 2002.

Members, whose countries are indicated in bold type, were elected at the Istanbul Assembly, in July 2005, for a three-year term of office. Thus, their term of office will end with the Turin Assembly in 2008.
