This book, compiled and edited by Pierre Vago, is published by Editions de l'Epure with the support of the UIA French Section.

Fifty years after the founding of the Union in Lausanne, this book attempts to respond to a number of questions:

What were the goals of the founders? What were the themes that brought about a federation of architects? What actions has the UIA undertaken? What has been and will be their impact on the profession? What positions has the UIA accepted or refused to take with regard to architecture in the world?

The texts are in English or French, depending on the authors who are active participants within the Union.
