PRESS RELEASE

Paris, 7 December 2009

International Velux Award 2010: The Light of Tomorrow.

The VELUX company has launched the fourth edition of its biennial international award for students of architecture all over the world. It is organised in collaboration with the European Association for Architectural Education (EAAE) and the International Union of Architects (UIA).

Around the theme the light of tomorrow, VELUX seeks to generate reflection and debate on daylight. Through innovative projects, the aim is to focus on daylight and sunlight as natural sources of lighting and energy. Knowing that the building industry is one of the most voracious energy consumers and at a time when the reduction of energy use and carbon emmisions is a priority, the theme of natural light takes on a very special dimension that will be illustrated by the projects.
