Omar Mohammed Kamal Rabie, Egypt |
| The jury acknowledges the highly symbolic approach of this project which illustrates the wide dimension of the theme Architecture and Water at its best. In his thoughtful reflections the author touches the core of the spiritual resources of architecture as the most comprehensive opportunity for mankind to interpret the universe. The project refers to the paradigm of Gods creation of the world : the dividing of the waters of chaos to let the solid ground of the earth appear as the foundation for human development. It includes the harmony between religions as a condition that can bridge hostile elements like the stormy seas. This highly philosophic background is illustrated by the design of tectonic elements representing an architecture that consists of modern constructive possibilities, techniques, and aesthetics all of this presented through excellent graphic representations.
