CHILD BUILDERS

This project is situated in Darmstadt, Germany, in a housing area created between 1965 and 1970. The children and adolescents of the community were given the possibility to re-design and build the public spaces, for recreation and games. The result is a large diversity of areas for relaxation, observation posts, a playroom and various zones adapted to the needs and aspirations of children and adolescents.

The jury was impressed by this initiative, the principles of which could be adapted to other fields of intervention.
