The double explosion in the port of Beirut (Lebanon) on the 4th August left over 200 people dead and 300 000 people homeless. The country was already facing a political, economic and health crisis even before this catastrophic event.
In this unprecedented situation, food and medical aid is essential and must take first priority. Furthermore, the city needs large-scale action on housing to allow the 300 000 displaced people to return to their homes. The aim of Windows for Beirut, in partnership with Emergency Architects, is to raise funds for the emergency repair of residential buildings, with a particular focus on the reconstruction of façades (windows, aluminium, waterproofing).
