Jane Duncan - RIBA Past President & Director of Jane Duncan Architects Ltd

Jane Duncan is the Director of Jane Duncan Architects Ltd, a medium sized architectural and interior design practice established in 1992, specialising in high end residential schemes, school and community buildings, principally throughout the South of England.

Jane was RIBA Vice President Practice for six years, then Equality and Diversity Champion and was elected in 2014 as RIBA President for 2015-17.  She was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list in June 2018 for services to diversity in the profession.

Jane currently chairs the RIBA Expert Panel on Fire Safety and has recently undertaken an in depth review of the RIBA Awards system. She is President of the Architects Benevolent Society, a member of her local community Action Group, and an Ambassador for the Stephen Lawrence Trust.

Jane will be participating in the first panel of the ACE-UIA International Conference on Design Competitions, 25 October 2019, UNESCO headquarters, Paris.

General Secretariat

The UIA General Secretariat, placed under the responsibility of the Secretary General, is the Union's executive body and the administrative centre for the coordination of relations between the UIA Member Sections and their activities.

The General Secretariat assists architects and architecture students in getting into contact with professional colleagues throughout the world, from professional organisations and architectural schools to museums and media.

The General Secretariat helps architects to keep up to date with UIA activities, its partners and Member Sections.
