Oslo Architecture Triennale 2019

25 Sep - 28 Sep Oslo, Norway

The Oslo Architecture Triennale (also known as OAT) will be taking place from 25 to 28 September this year. Jointly organised by various Norwegian architecture institutions, including UIA Member Section, the National Association of Norwegian Architects, the core theme of the Triennale is « Enough: The Architecture of Degrowth ». The event seeks responses to the climate emergency and social inequality provoked by economic growth. Participants in the Triennale will be invited to consider alternatives to the profit-making paradigm in the built environment.

The Core Programme of the Triennale includes an exhibition, a performatory platform and public space installation, an international conference, an international academic forum, a publication and a digital essay series. In their concept proposal for OAT 2019, the Curators wish to exploit the various stands' possibilities of reaching out to and involving the Triennale's audience in exploring, investigating, considering and perhaps accepting non-growth-based strategies for planning and building our societies and cities in the future.
