Portugal holds 15th Architects' Congress
The 15th Architects' Congress was held on 25 to 27 October. Around three hundred architects gathered to discuss themes focused on the enhancement of heritage.
The Congress unanimously approved and acclaimed a set of recommendations, transmitted and delivered to the Prime Minister, António Costa and to the Secretary of State for Housing, Ana Pinho, who participated in the Closing Ceremony, which was also attended by the President of the Congress, Alexandre Burmester, the Mayor of Lagoa, Francisco Malveiro Martins and the President of the Order of Architects, José Pedreirinho.
There are around 25 000 architecture graduates in Portugal, of which 16 000 join the professional sector.
