There was a pretty big crowd at the UIA Congress in Seoul (Korea) from 3 to 7 September. The symbolic bar of 10,000 participants was crossed during this Congress, but who were they?
Firstly, the delegates, 7,570 this year, were present. But a large student presence, 1,417 in total, were also counted in addition to varied publics numbering around 249 people. Last but not least, there were no less than 1,441 free registrations, issued to students and young architects from developing countries who wished to attend the debates.
After adding up all these talents and passions which congregated in Seoul early this September for UIA Seoul 2017, we arrive at exactly 10,677 attendees, an excellent level of participations that the UIA has not seen since its World Congress in Barcelona in 1996.
