In recent years, humanity has faced increasingly urgent challenges – from natural hazards to human-induced crises – which have caused devastating impacts on human lives, the environment, and cultural heritage. Disaster management requires a comprehensive and collaborative approach that encompasses all phases: before, during, and after the event.
Within this framework, architects play a central role. As both thinkers and designers of the built environment, they contribute to navigating complexity, engaging affected communities, and rebuilding hope.
This webinar, organised by the UIA Natural and Human Disasters Work Programme with contributions from the Disasters Task Force of the Architects’ Council of Europe (ACE) and the Arcasia Emergency Architects (AEA), will provide an international perspective on disaster management and the crucial role of architects.
