At the state-level honours event of the Victorian chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects (AIA Victoria), Allen Kong was awarded the 2025 Victorian Enabling Architecture Prize.
The Victorian Enabling Architecture Prize is given annually to an individual, practice, company, or organisation that has shown “exceptional leadership and commitment to enabling architecture” — meaning design that prioritises inclusion, accessibility and social responsibility.
In selecting Allen Kong, the jury recognised his contribution to architecture that “enables”, underlining his commitment to inclusive and accessible design, and his role as a leading advocate for architecture that serves all users.
This recognition also highlights Allen Kong’s role as Co-Director of the UIA Architecture for All Work Programme, a practice dedicated to inclusive, equitable and socially responsive design. The award reinforces both his personal leadership and the broader mission of the practice, positioning Architecture for All WP as a leading voice in enabling architecture.
