The UIA World Congress of Architects 2026 Barcelona has announced the first group of confirmed speakers. This initial list brings together leading international figures whose work has significantly contributed to contemporary architectural thinking and practice, in alignment with the Congress theme “Becoming. Architectures for a planet in transition.”
More than one hundred names are included in this first announcement. Among the confirmed speakers are: A JDVIV / IVJDV A (Jan de Vylder & Inge Vinck), Alexander Brodsky, Andrés Jaque, Anne Holtrop, Atelier Bow-Wow, Bas Smets, Baukunst, Bêka & Lemoine, Brandlhuber+, Bruther, Colectivo C733, Forensic Architecture, H Arquitectes, Marina Tabassum, OFFICE KGDVS, Paulo Tavares, Roger Boltshauser, Tatiana Bilbao, TEN Studio, Timothy Morton, Turenscape, Xu Tiantian and Yasmeen Lari, among many others to be announced in the coming months.
The Congress will bring together more than 200 speakers from around the world, selected for the relevance of their work, the diversity of their disciplinary approaches, their geographical representativeness and their commitment to an architecture capable of responding to the real needs of people and the planet.
Passes for the Congress are now available, with ticket options for both professionals and students.
The selection of speakers has been curated by the Scientific Committee and the Curatorial Team: Pau Bajet & Maria Giramé, Tomeu Ramis, Mariona Benedito, and Pau Sarquella & Carmen Torres.
The UIA World Congress of Architects 2026 Barcelona will take place from 28 June to 2 July 2026.
The Congress is organised by the International Union of Architects (UIA) through the Higher Council of Professional Associations of Architects of Spain (CSCAE) and the Architects’ Association of Catalonia (COAC). UIA2026BCN receives institutional support and funding from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda, the Government of Catalonia, and the Barcelona City Council.
