The Chamber of Architects of Turkey (CAT) highlights the achievements of architect Pınar Gökbayrak, whose work has been recognised through several national architecture initiatives and publications.
Her Gökçeada High School Project received the Building Category Achievement Award within the framework of the National Architecture Exhibition and Awards Program 2018–2020, organised by the Chamber of Architects of Turkey. The biennial programme aims to promote architectural excellence, document architectural production, and strengthen public awareness of architecture in Turkey.
The project was also selected in 2025 by Yapı Magazine for inclusion in the publication “From 400 to 500, From 2015 to 2025: Turkish Architecture,” presented in the magazine’s 500th issue. This selection highlights significant architectural works produced in Turkey over the past decade.
The Gökçeada High School project was recognised by the jury for its fragmented architectural composition and human-scale design, which integrates harmoniously with its surroundings. The project proposes an educational environment that extends beyond the school itself, incorporating open, semi-open, and enclosed spaces—such as courtyards, workshops, and meeting areas—that can also be used by the wider community. Its design approach preserves the natural landscape while creating a permeable campus structure that encourages interaction and spatial continuity.
Alongside her professional practice, Pınar Gökbayrak actively participates in architectural competitions and jury work, contributing to the promotion of design quality and the development of architectural culture in Turkey.
