UIA Work Programme – Live Webinar | UIA Public Health Group (PHG), Region V
The International Union of Architects (UIA), through its Public Health Group (PHG) – Region V, invites you to the webinar “Design for Health in Africa,” an online event exploring the role of architecture in improving healthcare environments across the continent.
The session will bring together professionals working in healthcare design to discuss how architectural strategies can respond to resource limitations while supporting both infection control and patients’ psychological wellbeing.
Speakers include Dr Alia Amer (Egypt), presenting “Healing by Design: The Interdependence of Infection Control and Psychological Wellbeing in Resource-Limited Hospitals”; Musembi Mumo (Kenya), sharing insights on Covid Hospital Design in Kenya; and Angela Hesketh (South Africa), discussing Contextual Constraints Informing Robust Design.
The webinar will include opening remarks by Rui Leão, UIA Secretary-General, a panel discussion moderated by Kevin Bingham, and closing remarks by Dr Ray Pentecost, UIA PHG Co-Director.
