DR3 Aceh 2026 is organised by the International Union of Architects (UIA) Natural and Human Disasters Work Programme, in collaboration with the Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI) and Arcasia Emergency Architects (AEA), supported by the Ministry of Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia (EKRAF).
DR3 Aceh 2026 will be held in Banda Aceh, the ground zero of the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami. This marks 21 years since the disaster, positioning Aceh as a living laboratory for resilience and building back better.
Amid recent disasters—from Cyclone Senyar to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza—and escalating geopolitical tensions such as the current geopolitical conflict, the conference highlights that both natural and human-induced disasters, remain urgent and interconnected global realities.
Through conference, workshops, exhibitions, and physical site visits to disaster sites, DR3 Aceh 2026 brings together diverse stakeholders to drive critical dialogue, collaboration, and action towards more ethical, inclusive, and resilient futures.
