Architecture students worldwide are invited to participate in the international ideas competition “Catalysts of Resilience,” held in the lead‑up to the UIA World Congress of Architects 2026, which will take place in Barcelona from 28 June to 2 July 2026.
Organised by the Consejo Superior de los Colegios de Arquitectos de España (CSCAE) and the Col·legi d’Arquitectes de Catalunya (COAC), the competition is conducted in accordance with the UNESCO Regulations for International Competitions and the UIA’s best‑practice guidelines for architecture and urban design contests.
Participants are asked to propose spatial interventions for vulnerable sites facing future risks associated with housing, inequality or collapse. Submissions should consider how resilience may be strengthened through adaptive design strategies that employ time as a central design tool.
Eligibility
The competition is open to all full‑time students of architecture, landscape architecture, urban design or urban planning. Multidisciplinary teams are encouraged. Students from other disciplines may participate as collaborators.
