In recent years, humanity has faced increasingly complex and urgent challenges. The growing risks of natural disasters, climate change, and conflicts continue to threaten human lives, cultural heritage, and the built environment.
This webinar, organised by the UIA Natural and Human Disasters Work Programme in collaboration with the Architects’ Council of Europe (ACE) and the Arcasia Emergency Architects (AEA), aims to provide an international framework for understanding the management of disasters.
Architects play a crucial role throughout the different phases of disaster response – before, during, and after – as both thinkers and designers of the built environment. By engaging with affected communities and collaborating across disciplines, architects help rebuild not only structures, but also resilience and hope.
