The Global Award for Sustainable Architecture, endorsed by the International Union of Architects (UIA) and under the patronage of UNESCO, returns for its 20th edition, inviting architects, urban planners, and landscape designers from around the world to apply before the upcoming deadline.
The 2027 theme, “Architecture Is Equity,” calls on professionals to demonstrate how architecture can foster social justice, inclusion, and democratic engagement, and contribute meaningfully to a more equitable built environment. Through built work, research, and practice, applicants are encouraged to show how design can act as a catalyst for positive and lasting change.
Each year, the Award recognises five laureates whose work exemplifies excellence in equity, circularity, and sustainability. The international jury, composed of renowned experts from across the globe, reflects the diversity and values at the heart of the Award’s mission.
