The ongoing Call for Participants for the UIA World Congress of Architects Barcelona 2026 “Becoming: Architectures for a planet in transition” has been extended until 2 June 2025.

Submission Formats
Critical Design: industrial design concepts, prototypes or exploration of design methodologies with focus on innovative approaches within the design field
Critical Essay: academic essays, research papers or theoretical discussions that address critical analyses, theoretical perspectives or research findings while also connecting with the themes of the Becoming research lines
Critical Image: films, photography, multimedia pieces and experimental or creative visual projects that engage with design themes and the critical discourse surrounding architecture and spatial space
Submissions should contribute to inclusive, sustainable, and equitable approaches to architecture and the built environment, aligned with the Congress’ central theme.
Review Process
All submissions will be evaluated through a blind peer-review process coordinated by a distinguished Scientific Committee and assessed by an international Jury.
The Scientific Committee is composed of leading academics and professionals from 6 continents, with expertise across disciplines such as architecture, urbanism, sustainability, and social sciences.
The Jury will select the final speakers that will be included in the Congress programme.
