CNAPPC International Conference – Rome, March 24th, 2026
On March 24th, 2026, the Palazzo Rospigliosi Conference Centre in Rome hosts the international conference “New Paradigms of Urban Living: Proximity and Well-being in Cities and Territories”, a key event dedicated to rethinking the future of cities through the lens of urban regeneration.
Organized by the National Council of Architects, Planners, Landscapers and Conservationists (CNAPPC), the conference represents the culmination of the “Italy in Proximity” initiative. This series of events fosters national and international dialogue on how proximity, quality of life, and sustainable development redefine urban environments. The initiative is developed in collaboration with CNAPPC’s Scientific Committee, chaired by Carlos Moreno, internationally recognized for introducing the “15-minute city” concept.
The conference brings together representatives from Italian and European institutions, academics, experts, and professionals to reflect on the ongoing transformation of cities and territories. It also supports the Urban Regeneration Bill currently under discussion in the Italian Parliament, contributing strategic insights and recommendations that emphasize time, accessibility, and well-being as essential drivers of urban and architectural change.
Through six thematic sessions, participants address pressing challenges such as climate adaptation, the reorganization of urban time, the development of proximity-based economies, sustainable mobility, and the role of urban intelligence in shaping future territories.
This event represents a significant opportunity to advance a shared vision for more inclusive, resilient, and human-centered cities, reinforcing the role of design and planning in addressing contemporary societal needs.
