The International Union of Architects (UIA) announces the results of the third edition of the UIA Award for Innovation in Architectural Education, organised by the UIA Architectural Education Commission.
Established in 2019 and organised on a triennial basis, the Award honours outstanding approaches to architectural and urban design education that demonstrate excellence in pedagogy while responding to pressing societal and environmental challenges. Guided by the principles of the UNESCO–UIA Charter for Architectural Education (updated July 2023), the Award highlights the critical role of architectural education in shaping future professionals capable of contributing to sustainable and inclusive built environments.
Twenty-two countries across the five UIA Regions were shortlisted for evaluation. The submissions reflected a wide range of educational approaches and thematic focuses, addressing issues such as climate action, inclusivity, migration, health, community development, heritage conservation, resource efficiency, and post-industrial regeneration.
