2nd Decarbonising Architecture Conference

Barcelona - Spain

Organised by the Consejo Superior de los Colegios de Arquitectos de España (CSCAE) and the Architect’s Association of Catalonia (COAC) with the partnership of the Architects’ Council of Europe, the conference will feature leading experts to promote a paradigm shift in the sector and achieve climate neutrality by 2050.

What is low-carbon architecture?

Carbon-free architecture aims to design buildings and urban spaces that minimize their carbon footprint, that is to say the greenhouse gas emissions associated with their construction and operation. This involves the use of sustainable materials, renewable energy sources, improved energy efficiency, and waste reduction. The objective is to contribute to the mitigation of climate change by creating a built environment that is more respectful of the environment and human health.

Topics that will be covered during this event include:

  • Energetic efficiency
  • Renewable energies
  • Sustainable materials
  • Inclusive design
