The UIA has announced the winners of the international single-stage ideas competition “Architecture in the Aftermath of Disasters – Towards Sustainable and Community-Based Reconstruction in Post-Earthquake Morocco.”

The UIA has awarded the 2026 UIA Gold Medal to Portuguese architect Eduardo Souto de Moura, recognising an outstanding body of work defined by intelligence, restraint, and a profound sense of responsibility toward society.

The UIA announces the laureates of the 2026 UIA Gold Medal and Triennial Prizes. The awards will be conferred at an official ceremony, by invitation only, at the Sagrada Família in Barcelona during the 2026 UIA World Congress of Architects.
