Extension of Victoria Palace

This international competition for the extension of Victoria Palace in Bucharest was organised by the Prime Minister Chancellery of Romania in cooperation with Ion Mincu University of Architecture and Urbanism. This site houses the head offices of the Romanian government.

This invitation-only competition, including a pre-selection stage, was approved by the International Union of Architects (UIA).

Theme and objectives

The main objective for this competition was to find an architectural solution for the extension of Victoria Palace. 

This competition was conducted over two stages. The first stage was for the selection of participants. The second concerned the submission of architectural projects.
