Layout of the Drava River Area in the City of Maribor

The city of Maribor was the European Capital of Culture in 2012 (“Evropska prestolnica kulture”, henceforth EPK). This nomination was considered as the opportunity for Maribor to show its cultural pulse and cultural development. In the context of preparations for the year 2012, the Municipality of Maribor prepared a spatial development project in the Drava River area of the city. 

The intention was to develop an outline scheme for the central stage of the European Capital of Culture and for urban regeneration in the city over the following twenty years. 




12th Thyssenkrupp Elevator International Award

This international architectural competition was presented in order to select the design of an Istanbul Disaster Prevention and Education Centre, which was to be the first institution in Turkey with the intended facilities. 

 


10th Korean Rural Architecture Competition

The tenth cycle of the International Exhibition for Korean Rural Architectural Competition was organised to seek the implementation of a new architectural culture in South Korea. 


Requalification of Byrsa Acropolis and Rehabilitation of the Carthage National Museum (2023)

Expertise France, in collaboration with the Tunisian Ministry of Culture and with the support of the European Union, announced the launch of the international one-stage design competition for the Requalification of Byrsa Acropolis and Rehabilitation of the Carthage National Museum in Tunisia on 6 September 2022.


INTERNATIONAL VELUX AWARD 2022

VELUX has announced the laureates of the International VELUX Award 2022. This biennial ideas competition for architecture students is endorsed by the UIA since 2004. 507 projects were submitted from 211 international schools of architecture.
