10 Blind Walls Ideas Competition for Young Architects

Fundació Mies van der Rohe and the Barcelona City Council have launched an international single stage ideas competition open to all young architects as part of the city’s nomination as the 2026 UNESCO-UIA World Capital of Architecture.


International VELUX AWARD 2024

The International VELUX Award (IVA) is a biennial ideas competition for students of architecture. It invites students from all over the world to create projects investigating the role of daylight in our everyday lives.


New town of Evry I

The competition was organised by the Établissement Public d’Aménagement de la Ville Nouvelle d’Évry. It was launched on 18 May 1971 by Maurice Doublet, Prefect of Greater Paris and Michel Boscher, Mayor, Member of Parliament for Évry and President of the Établissement Public d’Aménagement de la Ville Nouvelle. 

This two-phase international competition was approved by the International Union of Architects (UIA).


Nam June Paik Museum

The Kyonggi Cultural Foundation launched a single stage open international ideas competition for the design of a museum dedicated to the media artist Nam June Paik.

In conformity with the UNESCO-UIA regulations, the competition was approved by the International Union of Architects (UIA). 


12th Thyssenkrupp Elevator International Award

This international architectural competition was presented in order to select the design of an Istanbul Disaster Prevention and Education Centre, which was to be the first institution in Turkey with the intended facilities. 

 


European Parliament – Paul-Henri SPAAK Building

The Official Journal of the European Commission announced the international architectural design competition for the renewal of the European Parliament – Paul-Henri SPAAK Building Brussels on 26 May 2020. The international, single stage architectural design project competition with an open pre-qualification followed by a restricted procedure was endorsed by the UIA.


European Commission Joint Research Centre (JRC)

The European Commission Joint Research Centre (JRC) organised a restricted international multidisciplinary project competition for the design of the new JRC Site Headquarters in Seville, Spain.


Thessaloniki ConfEx Park

TIF-HELEXPO, a national exhibition and conference organizer based in Thessaloniki, Greece, organised an international multidisciplinary project competition with prequalification for the design of Thessaloniki ConfEx Park, located in the heart of Thessaloniki, currently home to 1.1 million people and Greece’s second largest city.


Reconstruction & Rehabilitation of Al Nouri Complex, Mosul

UNESCO with the support of the Government of United Arab Emirates, the Prime Minister of Iraq and the UN Secretary-General, organised an international, single stage, open and anonymous architecture competition for the Reconstruction & Rehabilitation of the Al Nouri Complex in Mosul, Iraq.


Piazza Transalpina / Trg Evrope

The urban regeneration project linking the Italian city of Gorizia with the Slovenian city, Nova Gorica, and creating a shared central area to be known as Europe Square – Piazzale Della Transalpina and the hub EPICenter, was conducted as part of a campaign for the title of 2025 European Capital of Culture (ECoC).
